Set a town and this page looks at the morning, midday and evening temperature, rain and wind, and gives one answer: how many layers on top, and whether a coat, rain gear and a hat are needed. You can pick an age band. It works in any town in the world.
The town name is looked up in a list of towns kept on this site. It is not sent to any outside service. For weather, the town's coordinates are rounded to about 1 km and sent through a relay on this site to MET Norway, which does not receive your IP address. Only the town you set is remembered, and it is kept on this device.
Names are found for towns of about 15,000 people or more and for capitals. A smaller town can be set with “Use where I am”.
When a town is remembered, this page asks for the weather as it opens. When none is remembered, it sends nothing until you press one of the two buttons below.
